Butterpillar

The caterpillar dispised his new life as a butterfly
Broken out from a crusty sleeping bag into a nightmare
He saw his shadow cast onto a rose
His wings just had to go
He twisted his neck and began to eat at his new velvety wafers
Like leaves from some exotic plant his wings were inside him again
He inspected himself in the window
And to his delight
Not a single sign of flight
But with a look so thin and spindly he would never be accepted into the caterpillar world
He ate his 6 legs, a hexagonal meal
And to a caterpillar he had returned
